We recently had the pleasure of shooting Leonie & Mikael's beautiful Swedish wedding at Skanor and Kronovalls Vinslott. It was 4 days of celebration including a fantastic pre-night party at Mia and Ander's home (Mikael's parents) and a sensational day of ceremony, friendship and spectacular celebration at beautiful Kronovalls. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful, extravagant and enjoyable assignments I've had the pleasure to shoot.

The Mummers, a tragedy
I'd been musing with chums Simon & Brigitte as to why The Mummers, one of my very favourite bands of the moment, had failed to show at the End of the Road festival recently.
Sadly we now have the answer. A few days before the festival Mark Horwood, the Mummer's primary composer and musical influence, hanged himself. The fact that he lived & worked just down the road at Aldingbourne gives it even more resonance.
This really is a tragedy, as the Mummers were a breath of beautiful fresh air on the music scene, different, sophisticated & complex sounds, gorgeous singing by the gorgeous Raissa Khan-Panni.
This is big time sad. Here are the fabulous Mummers playing live on Later with Jools.

Bedouin Tents
One of the many thrills of shooting wedding is finding talented & creative suppliers, whether it be cakes, dresses, planing or, as was the case at Dean & Nick's fantastic Civil Partnership, tents! Bedouin Tents, to be more precise.
These aren't just tents, these are utterly beautiful creations designed to look and feel amazing. The attention to detail is stunning and the overall effect really has to be experienced. I've posted a few images here to give a flavour of what I'm talking about. But there's more to see on my main wedding photography website.
These beautiful creations are designed, built & removed by Bedouin Tents UK. If you're hosting a special event then do check them out. Ask for Charles and tell him we sent you.

Goodwood Revival 2009
I took Sebastian to the Goodwood Revival on Saturday. It was absolutely fabulous. The array of cars, people, outfits, music and paraphenalia from bygone eras was amazing. There was just a wonderful atmosphere throughout the whole thing, and boy is it a big thing now. His imperial Sebage was in boy heaven.
Here's just a few photos from the day. To see much more flip to my main site and the Event Photography gallery.

Apple
My devotion to Apple technology has cropped up countless times in conversation with friends, associates and fellow photographers. The short answer is that Apple are sublime exponents of form and function. Their stuff has been really thought through. The way it looks, the way it feels, the ease of use for human beings, the connectivity, the reliability. It's all of that. But I guess Apple, despite being a pretty big company, will always be the the maverick when compared to the really big guys. That also appeals to me.
I always prefer the road less travelled. And AppIe are led by a visionary, a genius, and a maverick, not an accountant or a technician. This matters to me. I think like Apple thinks, I like companies and people who really think about the very best solution, revolutionaries who change the world and move things on. Apple have made life so much easier, more productive, more enjoyable and, in truth, more amazing for us photographers, and for musicians, film producers, designers and almost anybody in the creative industries. It's a great marriage.
In the end, with Apple you either dig it or you don't. Either way is cool. But if you dig Apple, explanations are ever necessary.
This old TV ad of Apple's says it more cutely. I mean, even their ads are cooler :)

Avington Park Wedding - Pam & Darren
Last Saturday I was at beautiful Avington Park to shoot Pam and Darren's wedding. The setting was perfect. Avington Park is in the idyllic village of Itchen Abbas, near Winchester. It's a atunningly beautiful stately home that has appeared in a number of period TV dramas over the years. It's the perfect setting for an English summer wedding, and so it proved for Pam and Darren. The day was fabulous, relaxed and stylish, great people and wonderful weather. Just about as perfect a day as can be.
